Deneen Boston

Founder & Executive Director

Deneen Boston is an educator and community leader with a lifelong passion for service and a deep-rooted belief in the power of a simple, nutritious meal. Driven by the joy of seeing a smile return to someone's face, Deneen founded Brown Bag Lunches in 2000 to address food insecurity and provide hope to those experiencing homelessness.

What began as a personal mission to hand out sandwiches and hearty spaghetti meals has grown into a flourishing ministry. Deneen's vision is fueled by the personal fulfillment that comes from knowing a neighbor is no longer hungry.

Between 2000 and 2024, Deneen worked tirelessly to broaden Brown Bag Lunches's reach, building strategic partnerships with local organizations and community pillars like Publix and Farm Share. Thanks to these collaborations, 2024 marked a major turning point for the ministry, allowing the organization to expand its impact and serve more individuals than ever before.

Today, Deneen continues to lead Brown Bag Lunches with the same hands-on approach she started with, ensuring that every meal served is a step toward a stronger, more compassionate community.
